Company History
The First Step Toward Leadership
1998
In 1998, GE Capital, in partnership with Goldman Sachs, established a non-performing loan and distressed asset management business in Thailand under the name Bangkok Capital Alliance Co., Ltd.
2007
Alpha Capital Co., Ltd. was established with key members of its management team originating from Bangkok Capital Alliance.
2016
In 2016, Ares SSG Capital Management Limited (“Ares SSG”), a leading alternative asset investment firm based in Hong Kong, acquired Alpha’s shares from GE Group and the Rattanarak family. Ares SSG has since enhanced Alpha’s corporate standards and professionalized its operating systems to ensure that performance aligns with strategic objectives, driving sustainable growth and long-term advancement for the organization.
2019
In the fourth quarter of 2019, Ares SSG formed a strategic partnership by selling a 49% equity stake to Nine Basil (“Nine Basil”), an investment fund based in Thailand, while retaining a 51% shareholding. Both shareholder groups are strongly committed to advancing and expanding Alpha’s business in the management of non-performing loans and distressed assets, as well as exploring new business opportunities to support long-term growth and stability

The company has a proven track record in managing non-performing loans and distressed assets since 1997, supported by a management team and professionals with extensive experience across all key areas, including asset management, valuation, legal, operations, and property sales.
We adhere to rigorous standards and criteria in the analysis and valuation of non-performing loans and distressed assets. Our strategies encompass a wide range of approaches, including debt restructuring negotiations, the transfer of rights in non-performing loans or distressed assets, asset acquisition through public auctions, and the repossession or cancellation of collateralized properties.
We maintain long-standing and strong relationships with commercial banks and asset management companies. Alpha has built trusted business partnerships through the acquisition of non-performing loans and distressed assets via auctions from various commercial banks, including Krungthai Bank Public Company Limited, Kasikornbank Public Company Limited, and Morgan Stanley, among others.
We specialize in managing non-performing loans and distressed assets from small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as residential mortgage portfolios. By employing a diverse range of strategies, we are able to manage these assets with exceptional effectiveness and outstanding performance.
